Welcome to our Governors’ section.
Please find below details of how our Governing body is structured, including the names, categories, responsibilities and terms of appointment for each Governor. We keep a record of attendance at meetings which are kept in the School Governors File in the School Office. Governors may be part of either or both committees (Resources or Curriculum). Meetings are held after school in the Nursery Classroom or via Teams online video calling as appropriate.

Governing Body Changes 2020-21
We received two resignations from our Governing Body in the Academic year 2020-21 bothe due to changes in work circumstances. We would like to thank Mrs Amanda Marsden who has started a new career as a Midwife assistant and Mr Majid Ali for their support to the school in their time as Governors. We wish them every success.
At Woodfield our Governing Body is committed to training to ensure that they have the ability to challenge and support the Headteacher and School to be the best they can be. Future training will focus on finance, curriculum and safeguarding.
We would like to welcome Jan Holmes, Headteacher of Walton Lane Maintained Nursery School to our Governing Body. Jan has a wide range of experiences and we are very happy that she accepted our invitation to join us.
We also wish to thank Mrs Salma Waheed for her excellent contribution as Chair of Governors over the past few years. Mrs Waheed will remain on the Governing Body but has passed the Chair to Mrs Tasleem Kausar. We want to thank Mrs Kausar for taking on this new responsibility.
Governor attendance during 2020
Due to Covid 19 pandemic Governors have been attending virtual online meetings via Skype meetings since June 2020. Periods of illness and self-isolation have also impacted on attendance at meetings. All Governors have received minutes and information from the meetings to allow them to be aware of changes made in school over this time period.

Governors at Woodfield Nursery School have completed Strive and Thrive : A happy and well school community training with Ruth Thompson. As a School Governing Body we recognise the importance of well-being in our school.
