Attendance
Children are expected to attend on a regular basis and we need to be informed of any reason of absence especially infectious diseases, vomiting or diarrhoea.
How to notify school of absences
Please will you phone us on the first day that your child is going to be absent.
We follow up all unexplained absences with a phone call or a home visit. If you have any particular difficulties which may affect your child’s attendance, please let your key person know and we will try to help.
Children miss many things if they do not come to school or arrive late. So that your child can make the most progress, please get them to school every day on time. We give special certificates to children who have good attendance each term.
Absences
We are concerned if your child is ill. Please let us know the reason for absences.
Sickness and diarrhoea: please keep your child at home for 24 hours after vomiting and 48 hours after having diarrhoea. This is to prevent the spread of any potentially infectious diseases.
Extended holidays
As a school we encourage you not to take holidays in school term time wherever possible as this will affect your child's education.
However if this unavoidable please inform us as soon as possible and discuss your individual circumstances with us. If you are planning an extended holiday we will need to know your holiday dates and the day you will be returning to school.
Please complete the request for Holiday Leave form which can be obtained from the school office.
It is not possible to retain the nursery place for longer than three weeks.
