Safeguarding
"Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play. In order to fulfil this responsibility effectively, all practitioners should make sure their approach is child centred. This means that they should consider, at all times, what is in the best interests of the child." Keeping children safe in Education 2024
Safeguarding the children at Woodfield Nursery School is of upmost priority to staff and governors. If you have any safeguarding or welfare concerns relating to a child please speak to one of our safeguarding leads listed below.
Some of the things we do to ensure that children, staff and visitors are safe in our school are:
- Rigorous procedures and policies are in place to keep all children safe
- All staff, governors and volunteers have enhanced DBS checks
- Staff receive training throughout the year: face to face training, online training and the seven minute briefings
- Staff teach children about how to keep safe, both in general and online
The Designated Senior Lead for Child Protection and Safeguarding is Mrs Harrison, Headteacher.
