Induction

Please note that we will be doing all paperwork in school as we are not yet undertaking home visits. A member of staff will telephone you to arrange a convenient time. This will usually be your child's keyperson.

All parents will be offered a Home Visit which is undertaken by your child's Keyperson and another member of staff usually Angela, our Headteacher or one of our teachers - Catherine or Nicola. This will give you the opportunity to ask any questions or discuss any medical or special educational needs with us. At the Home Visit we will talk through our induction and settling in routines as these will be tailored to the individual needs of your child. We will discuss the paperwork that we need to complete and fill in an All About Me booklet which tells us about things which are important to your child. The All About Me booklet help us to plan activities that your child will enjoy and gives us things that we can talk about to help settle your child and develop good relationships.

As part of our induction process we will ask parents to sign a Parental Agreement which details the number hours that your child will be attending the Nursery and the preferred attendance pattern.

We work very closely with parents  and know how important it is to ensure that your child is given time to settle in to new routines - we do not rush this process and it make take a few weeks before your child is fully settled. We encourage parents to play in the Nursery and Kindergarten and spend time getting to know your child's Keyperson.

Many of our teaching assistants are bilingual and will support in home language where possible.
