Our classes

At Woodfield, we have two classrooms, a sensory space and an outdoor classroom for our forest school provision.

We appreciate that starting nursery can be a big step for you and your family. We work with you and your child to plan a settling in process bespoke to their needs.

Our Nursery Room

Our Nursery room is for children aged 2 -3 years old. Within this room we can accommodate a maximum of 15 children in each session. We have a room leader based in the nursery room who is supported by a team of experienced teaching assistants. A teacher supports the room leader with planning and implementing our curriculum. When your child joins nursery, they are assigned a key person who will be the initial contact for you and your child.

Pre School

Our Pre School room is for children aged 3 - 4 years. Within this room we can accommodate a maximum of 50 children in each session. We have 3 qualified teachers based in the pre school room who are supported by a team of experienced teaching assistants. When your child joins pre school, they are assigned a key person who will be the initial contact for you and your child.

Our Outdoor Space

We are incredibly lucky to be surrounded by outdoor space. We have worked hard to develop this space to allow our children lots of different learning experiences.

Catherine, one of our qualified teachers, runs our forest school sessions. Forest school is an inspirational process, that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self esteem through hands on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment.

All children are given the opportunity to join forest school once a week with their key person.

We also use our outdoor space as often as we can for PE with Kanga Dave. He joins us every Friday.

The Sensory Room

At Woodfield, we recognise that having a clam space for all is important during what can be a very busy day! We have developed a sensory room that all our children can access throughout the day with a familiar adult. The space includes different toys and resources that provide sensory feedback such as a dark den, bubble tubes and sequin/texture walls.
